Awesome, Okay. So we're here today for Silenced, lets go through the standard questions...
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a self published author. My first book, Silenced, was released on December 13th. I’m a blogger at The Writing World where I help to promote myself and other authors as well. I’m a mother of one and I have another little girl on the way. I was recently married in August of 2012.
How would you describe 'your book (s)'?
Silenced isn’t about the perfect plot line or the perfect characters. The message behind it is what’s important. I’m trying to create awareness for depression and self harm. I wanted to try to help those who are in the very place I was in the past. I fought it and with the help of a doctor, I have it all under control.
Each event that happens in Ambers life has happened to someone I know. This saddens me when people make remarks about how something doesn’t seem like it would happen in reality. Such as going from a social outcast to prom queen. I witnessed this.
Ambers journey doesn’t end here though. It’s continued in a second book, which I’m working on. Therefore, the first book may leave some unanswered questions or may leave the readers puzzled. But as Stephen King said… "Good books don't give up all their secrets at once."
What inspired you to write 'your book (s)’?
There are so many Indie/Self published authors which inspire me. I see their success and it makes me try harder to get Silenced where I want it.
Who was the easiest character to write and why?
Hardest and why?
They all have their own level of difficulty. Therefore it took time to build each character the way I needed them to be to make Silenced believable.
Are your characters based on real people? People you may know or TV/Movie stars?
Yes. Amber is based on several people including myself. She’s a mixture of people I know.
Do you listen to music while you write your book?
No, music tends to distract me.
What’s up next for you?
Right now I am working on Silenced: The Overtaking which completes Ambers journey and her struggle. I’m also working on a new paranormal series which I haven’t named yet.
What inspired you to be a writer?
Is there anything in particular that spurred you on?
Inspiration comes from all different directions. It could be something I see during my day. Something I dream about. An experience someone tells me about. It can also come as I am reading another book. It’s hard to pin point exactly where it comes from.
What’s came first the chicken or the egg? Lol
Never really gave it much thought.
Lol!

A little background into your writing: when did you start?
What was your first piece?
First published piece, tell us about your general history…
When I first realized I wanted to be a writer I was about twenty years old. I’ve always wrote poetry and the drive to write a book began with my younger sister. She was looking at the shortened version of Silenced that I did for an English project and suggested I make it into a book.
Do you have any favorite books or authors?
This is such a hard question to answer. There are so many great authors out there. But if I have to choose I would say Edgar Allen Poe and Stephen King.
Are you working on anything else besides this?
At this time I am working on the ending of the second and last book in the Silenced Series. I’ve titled this one Silenced: The Overtaking. I’m also working on a paranormal book series which I’m unsure of the series title.
Could you give us a few words to people who haven’t yet read your book (s), sell your work ;)
The main purpose of Silenced is to bring awareness to depression and cutting. Amber’s journey is a mixture of real time events within several peoples lives. I wrote Silenced in the first person point of view so the reader could see first hand how someone with depression may deal with it.
