The Liebster Award

I’ve been nominated by author Barbara Bloom Barbara reads to groups of children at local libraries when she has the free time, and also has considered to read aloud at birthday parties for young children. She is currently the author of three children's books, Your Shoes My Shoes: We All Love Shoes! Here Comes Pixie Pie: Her Special Day At The Rodeo Fair (Volume 1), and last but not least, Run Hide The Monster Is Outside: A Tale With A Twist. Barbara is currently working on new titles or visit Barbara’s her blog or her amazon

The purpose of the Liebster Blog Award is to recognize blogs with fewer than 200 followers that deserve a look. My job is to:
(a) List 11 random facts about me;
(b) Answer 11 questions Karina has sent me;
(c) Set 11 questions to ask other authors;
(d) Tag other authors who should bask in the Liebster glow.

To my nominated writer friends – it means doing the same as I am doing here, i.e. post a blog linking back to mine, share 11 random facts about you, then nominate 11 bloggers to do the same. If you want to do this, but the thought of finding 11 other bloggers to tag puts you off, just write 11 random facts about yourself and remember to link back to my blog.

11 Random Facts About Me
1. I actually wanted to be an actress
2. I host an Author 2 Author Blog Chat with 3 other Authors.
3. I created my book covers and drew them
4. I have a weird form of OCD lol
5. I chew gum all day long
6. I laugh at everything
7. I only gather around 10 hours asleep a week
8. Was probably the only girl in my school who didn’t cry when Take That called it a quits; the first time!
9. Started writing my book series 20 years ago
10. I am a mother and carer of my 8 year old son who has CP
11. I am a real sap and believe in true love but find it hard to deal when people love me because I’m unable to accept it lol

Here are the 10 questions Barbara asked me:

1. What is your biggest dream as an author?
I wish to complete my A Broken Paradise Series and it be made into TV or Movie. I want to have lots of projects with my name on them and when I retire I wish to follow in my greatest inspiration/ heroes foot-steps; William Shakespeare and become a play write.

2. How do you feel when you’ve come to the final page of a first draft?
Overly anxious. I’m never satisfied with my work unless I’ve had an approval so my sister Emma reads it and edits it where she feels it needs to be. Then we chat about it and she gives me her views and I read over it with these inputs/ corrections/ ideas and 9 out of 10 times they stick and its finally complete. It’s an awesome feeling.

3. How do you go about naming your characters?
I’ll let you know when I begin something new because my characters for my A Broken Paradise Series seem to have been there like as if they were real to me, as real as you or I, like I didn’t need to come up with them because while I wrote their names were coming from me as natural as you speak to your friends or family, it was like fate though, they had purpose and relevance before they had a story.

4. Have you ever changed the name of a character?
Yes, book two I had allot of people called Tom so I had to change 2 of them lol

5. Do you write to the end and then edit, or edit as you go?
Depends if I’ve seen errors before but sometimes if I’ve gone away for a while I have to re-read a couple of pages before just to remember what and where I am lol so I think I go back and forth all the time and then read from the beginning again

6. Has a reader ever said something about your book or blog that made your day? If so, what was it?
Yes, Author Emily Guido read and reviewed my book and she loved it. The things she said made me so happy because it was exactly what I was intending to accomplish when people read my book and she didn’t just write a few lines in my review she really showed how much she liked it and with style as well, she didn’t give nothing away and I thank her deeply for her love and support.

7. What is your favorite time of day to write?
I don’t have one, when it flows it flows I just better hope I’m near a pen and paper or computer lol

8. What motivated/inspired you to become a writer?
Writing has always been a big part of me I think from an early as, as easy as 4 or 5, but my love came when I read my first book which was Macbeth by Williams Shakespeare.

9. Would you continue writing if nobody ever read anything you wrote?
Yeah, I’d have too! I need to get them out of my head somehow lol

10. What’s the happiest writer’s moment you’ve ever had?
My first book review, gave me 5 stars, a great start to my toes through the door of being an author

I’m tagging the following writers to continue the next chain of the Liebster Blog Award.

Poster (Fabric)

A reminder of whats going on...
You are in with a chance to win a number of prizes; A signed book (either hardback or paperback) a pen, a t-shirt, a banner, note pad, a cup and a bookmark..., (There is more!)

So all you have to do to win these prizes you have to do 2 things!!!
1....You have to get involved.
2.... Create me a character.
Have had a few entries already, get involved!!

This character can be any species you like; from any of the planets I have created in my APB Series...
The SSCC
EarthBavolia/  Orithia/  Dolus/ Perma-Ca/ Juan-Lay/ Wyvert/ Oriel/ Gravior/ Sung't/ Pluritis/ Llangaer/ and/or Dynomia.

You might think this is easy right? Think again!! This isn't as easy as you think unless you're good with the knowledge of my books and/or our universe!!!
That's right! Do you know the planets of our universe? WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP ON GOOGLE hahahaha!!
It's cool if you don't but it will help if you look it up, along with mapping out the new planets that collides with our universe (The one's i meantioned above).
You alient species must co-inside with the planet you are creating them from. So for instance the further away from the sun, the less human they will be, the more closer to the sun, the more paranormal and/or spiritual entities they will be. So do your homework lol!

This character is completely yours, so with that you get to chose;
* Name
* Gender
* Species
* Planet
* Are they Alliance or Resistance?
* What are their PPAs (Ability or Abilities)
* What do they look like (can draw a picture that would be awesome)

I will look over every entry and the winner/winners of this, your character will appear in Book 5 as an added bonus and you'll also get a special mention in the book.

Author 2 Author Welcomes ERP!!!

Welcome ER Pierce ‘Author 2 Author’ Blog Chat.
Thanks so much for stopping by, please make yourself at home and we’ll begin.

So, you want to know about me? What can I tell you… This will be a continuing post…
I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. I write my first story when I was in seventh grade-A first person account of an entire summer. I went through a massive teen angst poetry phase, and I have notebooks and binders filled with prose.
     Over a year ago, Ceithin and Aurelia showed up in my head. Hey yapped incessantly, demanding I sit and tell their story. After a month or two of being woken up with harsh whispers, I started writing. They havent stopped, and in fact, brought friends. Now my head is filled with stories, scenes, snippets and crazy people.

Lol I know how you feel on that subject, I thought I was going nuts!

New Book
Duality (Cordelia Kelly #1)
Cordelia Kelly is a dual-natured empath walking a fine line between good and evil. Can she balance her two sides and become the woman she was meant to be?
Coming late fall 2012. (November/December)
Paranormal (Darker) Urban Fantasy.
Novella length.

Cordelia Kelly is the heroine in my new series about empaths. She harbors many secrets and is dual-natured. She struggles with her good and her bad side, I guess you could also call it her and naïve side and so on and so forth.
Cordelia is amazing to write. She is powerful in her emotions and she exudes a level of frenetic excitement in me as an author. Cordelia meets Sol in a bar in the opening chapter.Sol is one of the heroes in this series, and I simply adore him. Sol and Cordelia have an immediate connection, both being empths and feeling isolated and lonely. But Cordelia struggles with who she is and accepting who she is. She is adept at hiding her true feelings and repressing her baser self, a skill she learned at a very young age. Sol tried to help her find comfort though he has secrets of his own. Secrets that just might get Cordelia killed.
One night Cordelia does something horrible (Or is it?) and the aftermath sets many new things motion. Will she heal and accept both her light and dark sides? Will her and Sol have a relationship? What happens when she cries? Who killed her grandmother and why? Who is the woman with cherry red lips that challenges Cordelia in a fight?

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm a mom to four children under nine and I've been married for over ten years to an awesome man. I started writing when I was in 6th grade and I've never stopped. In 2011 I started writing my first book, and since I've published six stories.
How would you describe your book?
My newest novel is called 'Duality' and is about Cordelia Kelly. She's an empath and has two sides of herself – the light, and the dark. Duality is about her struggle to put herself back together.
What Genre is your work mainly? Do you tend to stay in the same vein or are you hoping (if not already) to explore new ventures?
Duality is a darker Urban Fantasy. I genre hop. I write in Contemporary romance, paranormal, a bit of horror and erotic fiction.
Share with us a quote from one of your favourite characters…
"What color are your panties?"
Is it hard to come up with new ideas and/or plots?
Sometimes fleshing out a plot can be tricky. Other times plotlines hit me in the face with a rake.
How long does it take you to complete a finished book?
All my books have varied in timeframe. Eating Out was written in a few short hours, whereas Fractured Moon and Duality have taken six months to write.
What inspired you to write your book?
The people in my head who won't shut up unless I write down what they share. They are incessant and demanding.
Who was the easiest character to write and why? Hardest and why?
The easiest for me has been writing Samantha from my Hot Lunch Series. She's layered, yet she doesn't have the complexity of Cordelia (Duality) and Aurelia (Fractured Moon). The males of my story, the easiest was Jett from Finding Time.
Are your characters based on real people? People you may know or TV/Movie stars?
Insipiration comes from everywhere. Sometimes I'll sit at my keyboard pounding away and then I'll re-read what I've written and be like "Fuck, where did that come from?"
Without giving anything away, what is/are your favorite scene(s) in your book?
In Duality I love when Cordelia finds her inner power and unleashes her potential on her enemies.
If your book had a theme song, what would it be and why?
Cordelia's theme song is "Hurricane" by MSMR.
Do you listen to music while you write your book, if so ... what songs?
No, I don't listen to music while I'm actively writing. I listen to white noise (my box fan is always running)
What’s up next for you?
I'm taking a much needed break after I finsish Table for Two (Hot Lunch #3) and Duality is published. Summer will be here soon and all my kids will be home making it impossible to focus and write during the day.
What’s came first the chicken or the egg? Lol
Ah, the age old question. Today I'm going to say that The chicken came first :P
Do you have any favorite books or authors?
J.D Robb (Nora Roberts) and Ilona Andrews are my two favorite authors. I have a myriad of others whom I adore and love as well.
Here could you give us a few words to people who haven’t yet read your book.
Sell your work ;)
I try and write stories that my readers will feel. Every day I grow as an author and writer. I strive to hone my words with extreme precision but I'll always be a 'pantster". I write as scenes unfold in my mind. I've tried plotting but I'm not very good at following the 'rules'.
