My Review

Georgina is an IT Consult from Surrey, England. She works full time and loves her writing.

Quoted from Blog 'About Me';
I have always loved reading and writing. I wrote my first story when I was 13, subsequently I lost that story, as there was only one copy of it written on paper at the time and having lent it to a friend to read they lost it and claimed, “My dog ate it!” I wasn’t too happy but have since been in the process of re-writing it from memory. I was able to remember key points and have been adapting the story with lessons I have learnt over the years.

My Review!
From the opening title, the story already begins in a dark and winding manner, gripping you to feed the thirst for more. It feels almost devilish in some way that you sense the evil at presence, but you also have the mystical wonder.
Lily Anderson or is it Lily Brooke was adopted by her parents only a few weeks old. Lily’s life was lonely and cold, not much affection did she get from her adoptive mother who was not the motherly type, she was an executive advocate at heart, mind and life choice and always remained that stagnant and distant throughout her parenthood, you get the sense that maybe the adoption was not for her.
Lily took too her adoptive father though in the hope of love and closeness she so desperately needed. However, unfortunately her father leaves them both, a long sufferer himself, lack of affection from the mother he could not cope any more. Lilys life continued down the lonely path, bullied and tried at school, bullied and beaten at College, her life was crap.
Lily now just 18 is trapped in a world that did not make sense and did not want her at all, she is very alone and very confused, you can see the spiral her life will go down unless things change. And change is much deserved for this poor young woman. She struggles with commutative apt as she is very socially awkward, she hides in her own little world she feels she created, her journals of secret thoughts and pains, her drawings in her sketch pad and her dreams are all she has to call home. Her parents’ abandonment, not just her adoptive parents, but also the thought of her birth parents very emotionally damage her too. Then to have to go through daily bullying by the bastard that is Tom and his friends, they drive her to suicide because there really is nowhere else she can turn too.
Unless.
Maybe the guy in her dreams can help. Josh Barnes. He is mysterious and gentle; he is kind and loving to Lily, just what she needs. He also holds a truth behind her adoption and her life before, the dreams they share are not fictions but truth to her real life she knows nothing about.
Lily and Josh have an enigmatic connection he knows her but she doesn't know him. Shes told hes no good for her, no matter the situation at hand her heart knows best.
Alternatively, maybe it will be Leon who will be her saviour - He having all the answers Josh cannot say, will the truth hurt and chase Josh away? Are there motives to why Leon wants Lily? Leon is very demanding and forward about everything. A born leader, matched to her it seems. But with her questions mounting, confusion of the world she doesn't know building:
Who are the Willowers, what is Willow Brook Hollow, who are my parents, why must I choice?
The love Triangle of the now Will Lily pick Josh or Leon?
Can Lily figure out what type of life she once lived?
Who her birth parents are and where they live?
Will she ever be happy?
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and love stories with a smack down of supernatural infusions. Lily’s story is heart breaking and full of urgent demand and wonder.
Get your copy now! And step into Lily’s shoes get her to the end of her journey and see who saves the day.

Right hun, I gotta say that I loved the book and I must say it’s the best yet from you! I am jumping ahead of myself but I’m certain there’s gunna be more from Lily Josh and Leon Lol

      Georgina:
      Aw thanks! :D

Was it easy to write Another Life, did it flow for you?

      Georgina:
Yes mostly, the hardest bit was deciding on names!
Lol. And Lily’s adoptive mother – She was some sort of Solicitor I take it.
      Georgina:
Yes, I had her a lawyer always working a case

See I thought it was but Police also do the same thing, also MD doctors so I thought I’d clarify it Lol

      Georgina:
      That’s fine :)

She rather annoyed me to the point of tears something’s. I was so frustrated with her and her lack of motherhood I wanted to slap her ha-ha

      Georgina:
Hahaha good! You were supposed to feel that :)

I wanted to jump straight to the Bullying because Bullying is very real and such a serious thing, more nowadays than it used to be. Were you ever bullied at school - college - work?

      Georgina:
It is indeed and there are so many forms of bullying. Yes, I was at school.

It has become more prominent now on the internet, cyber bullying. I see many of the posts from victims, some videos. It’s horrid.       Is there any advice you have for those who are sufferers?

      Georgina:
I agree me too. Tell someone who listens, always always always talk to someone - if you have no one at home then call a help line, there is always someone there for you.

Is there a hidden, or visible meaning or understanding you wished your readers to go away with after reading Another Life?

      Georgina:
Life can always change and mostly you can change your own life by just making a choice.

So how does Leon come about his Aunt Sally in the real world?     How does that relationship work since he’s not from here but Willow Brook Hallow?

      Georgina:
Ha! She was outcast for loving a human however not all her memories were wiped, because like Leon she had a mind power and she blocked a few parts for her memory to remember (her family).

Leon is cruel mind; he did my head in a bit. Starts off all the perfect gentleman and friend and then goes all nuts like. He seems a very conflicted confused character as well, not just Lily. What are his issues?
Graphics by ©2013 D Williams. All rights reserved.
      Georgina:
Power - his family have been powerful but they were always below the King & Queen and he hated it!  Then he & Lily became friends and the parents set them up to marry and that were taken from him all because of Josh and that twisted him.

I was a bit bummed out that nothing happened to Tom and his worthless friends. Will he ever get his just deserts?

      Georgina:
No, he is one that will get away with it - it's to try to show that if you don't speak up these things go unpunished. And sometimes it's just too late

      Bastards Lol

      Georgina:
      Lol

So explain how you came up with the Willowers

      Georgina:
      The people or the name?

      Both!

      Georgina:
The people - I’ve always loved powers but didn't want to just make that the norm, so added in the separate world. The name - they come & go via a Willow Tree so thought it apt.

      And the Time Wanderers?

      Georgina:
I wanted another way for her to gain information. And knew people got punished by the willowers so thought I’d add a "layer" by creating these people.
Graphics by ©2013 D Williams. All rights reserved.
So is Willow Brook Hollow on another plane of existence or alternative universe or something entirely different?

      Georgina:
I suppose another plane of existence - it has the same timings as the human world and same features etc. it's just not actually part of that world.

I felt at the beginning of the story that Lily’s abandonment issues steamed from her mother but then when you think about it, she’s not the only one, her adoptive father abandons her, her birth parents had already abandoned her, my god the girl had a terrible time.

      Georgina:
Yes definitely the real parents abandoning her was the reason I made her adoptive parents do the same so she really feels isolated.

The Willowers have specific abilities, from what I can gather they have Weather and Elemental control, Telepathy / Empathy, some have Telekinesis, what other things can they do?
Graphics by ©2013 D Williams. All rights reserved.
Georgina:
I think that's it. So weather control, fire, water, air control, mind control, mind conversations, read thoughts, move things with their mind oh & Lily's mirror portal creation power.

I’m one of the lucky ones to have read this. For those who haven’t when should they expect to see this available?

      Georgina:
Indeed, you are! It will be released as eBook only (for now) on Friday 6th March 2015! :D

      Hee hee :D
And have you made a trailer for it yet?

      Georgina:
No - I am rather stumped I'm afraid for pictures!

Lol it is difficult in it. It’s gotta be the worst part about it Lol

      Georgina:
Yep - it is a shame but I just don't have the images for it - next book I might do a photo-shoot to gain more pictures etc.

So, is there anything I haven’t asked that you’d like to share with us?

      Georgina:
Gosh - erm... Only that I am working on more books so stay tuned as there will be more from me :)

Excellent! Well then that’s it hun! We’re done!

      Georgina:
Whoop! Thanks, hun - it was a lot of fun - I can't wait to get into character and answer those other questions! Also thanks for the review - dare I ask what rating out of 5 would you give it?
      View my review!
      5 Stars from me! :D

      Georgina:
      Awww thanks hun! :D

No probs at all, glad I got to read it! :D Thank you!

      Georgina:
      Any time hun.

Here are my interviews held earlier with Leon, Josh & Lily.

      My Interview with Leon
Hey Leon, for obvious reasons I have you here alone today, I just wanted to ask you a few questions if that’s okay?

      I’ll start…
Tell us a bit about yourself Leon.

Well I’m tall dark and handsome of course. My family one of the richest and most powerful. I love women and power, there isn’t much else to say.

You have a sister, yeah. Jess? Were you close?

Yeah Jess is cool. We haven’t really been close though, she is all about kindness and befriending everyone whereas I am more focused on gaining the power I want and she doesn’t always understand.

Your ex-girlfriend Scarlet, how could you do this to her like? You love her right? I mean you love her more than you would ever love Lily.

Yes, I love Scarlet, I thought we would have a life together but then the arranged marriage came along and well no guy who wants power would give that up! No love was worth sacrificing that chance!
Your little scuffle with Josh resulting in you punching Lily, how did that make you feel?

During the scuffle great because I was winning, after punching Lily not so good. I felt bad as other than being stubborn she hadn’t done anything wrong and I wanted to make amends but obviously I wasn’t allowed to do so.

Was it your only ambition to over-throw the crown or did you actually hope and seek some sort of happy ending eventually?
I always thought I’d have a happy ending. Obviously I wanted the crown and the happy ending but we can’t always get what we want so I punted for power instead.

How does Josh make you feel?

Angry and frustrated. He has everything I want and yet he doesn’t deserve any of it! Just thinking about him makes my blood boil. If I could I’d have sorted him out ages ago.

What abilities do you have all together?

Just mind control but I keep that on the secret side. So when anyone asks, I just tell them I can read minds.

How powerful/ power hungry did you feel when you ambushed the Brooke’s party at their home?

I felt amazing, it was such a rush to just see their panicked faces knowing I did all of that, I arranged it all. I knew I was so close to achieving my goal.

How could you kill the King and think you were going to get away with it, were you actually going to kill Lily, in your own mind, if you didn’t get your own way, or was the king always the target?

Ha-ha I was always going to kill the king, that was the only way I could get the Queen to do as I asked. Unfortunately, I hadn’t anticipated the full extent of the Queens powers.
Would I have killed Lily? Probably not, I wanted her in my end goal but even if that wasn’t possible I still had a soft spot for her.

Did you always envision yourself to being a feared leader rather than a loved?

I hoped I wouldn’t be but yes I always knew that would be the only way to drastically change the way the people were thinking.

Did it anger you to be fizzled out?

Let’s just say revenge is best served cold.

My Interview with Josh –
So what had you been doing with yourself while you searched for Lily, Josh?

Mostly working on my power until it was ready to contact Lily. Trying to find a way back home and when I gave up all hope of that I got an education and a part time job.

How hard was it with all Lily’s questions and you not being able to answer them, did you ever just want to shout and scream the answers?

It was torture. All I ever wanted to do when I got back in contact with her was help her and yet I couldn’t do that. I had to be the one person obstructing her. More than once I wanted to shout and scream the answers but I was afraid of what would happen. I’d lost her once I didn’t want to risk doing that again.

Where did you go when you weren’t at Uni or with Lily?

I sometimes went to watch Leon, try and second guess him. Mostly I just went to the park by the Willow tree looking at my home but not being able to enter.

Do you feel the same abandonment issues as Lily being orphaned as a child? Do you know anything about your real parents?

No as my parents died, they didn’t abandon me so my situation was different to hers. Yes, I know their names, what they did before they died and how they died.

How did you feel when you learned that Lily was being bullied and tried to take her own life, did that spur you to get to her sooner rather than later?

I felt helpless. I hadn’t located her by that point and it pained me to see her hurting but not being able to help. After she had told me she tried to commit suicide I panicked, I knew if she’d tried once she’d try again and so I became even more weird to stop her from wanting to remain in that world by taking her own life. Unfortunately, I added to her sadness, but then she met Leon and I thought all was lost until she told me about university and suddenly I knew how to find her.

How did you find Lily after?

She told me which Uni she was going to and so I got myself enrolled.

You tell Lily you’re from Surrey, what did you do there, where did you live?

I lived in an abandoned flat, I practiced my skills, enhanced my education and then got a part time job.

Josh I can only imagine how you feel every time Leon slips his way back into view of Lily – did you ever really believe that you and Lily would be happy one day or were you just enjoying the moments you had with her?

Yes, I always believed we would be happy one day but at the same time I was always worried something would come along to ruin it for us as we haven’t exactly had much luck. So as a rule I made sure I enjoyed the moments I had with her.

So, Mr and Mrs Barnes! How does that feel?

      Amazing, a dream come true.

And baby! Oh my, tell us how that feels?

Like the most wonderful gift ever

My Interview with Lily –

Lily, poor Lily. What a shit start to life you had huh hun?
What are your thoughts on life looking back?

We all have a past and although there are great chunks I’d like to change it made me who I am today and I love who I am today.

     And your adoptive mother?

I am not really sure what to think of her. I pity her I suppose, she adopted a child that she didn’t really want and neglected it so I suppose I was the only one to lose out.

     What about your adoptive father?

I am confused about him, I still don’t know what ever happened to him and it saddens me that he could leave us so easily, could leave me but I was too young to understand at the time.

If you were given the chance to give Tom one last thing before you headed back to Willow Brook, what would it be?

I’d tell him who I am and what power I have and show him that I am everything he’ll never be and then punch him and walk away (hehe).

What did you actually study at Uni?

      Events Management

Do you think you could have cut it being a normal human or are you happier being a Willower?

Yes, with Josh and Emily being a normal human would have been a happy life. Without them no I wouldn’t have survived.
Being a Willower though is definitely the best of the two options!

Have you seen any of those Time wanderers or Freaky people in the mirrors since you came back to Willow Brook Hollow?

The freaky mirror people were my doings as my portal power came through so yes I’ve seen more of them as I practiced and perfected the power. Time Wanderers, yes they are always around but I tend to just leave them be now, I’ve no need to bother them.

If you could make a porthole anywhere and travel, there where would you go?

Somewhere hot, relaxing and quiet, so I could use it as my little retreat when things became too much.

Did you ever get to confront Scarlet after?

No but in all honesty I didn’t need or want to. My problem wasn’t with her, she was just caught up in the whole tragic affair all because she loves Leon.

What laws of Willow Brook would you like to change?

I would like to change the human and Willower relationship law. I don’t want to eradicate it but I think times are changing and we need to be more flexible.
