Thank you for stopping by, please make yourself at home and we’ll begin.

A little bit about Virginia (Quoted from Profile)…
V.S. Nelson has always enjoyed reading stories with strong relationships and happy endings so it's not surprising she found herself writing across the romance genre. Even her commercial fiction, Sins of a Man, the memoirs of a Mafia Hit man, is layered with romantic elements. Landing in Arizona, after an exciting teaching career, which took her to the Middle East for everal years, she lives in Arizona where she spend most of my time making love to her computer while writing, editing or researching, seven to ten hours a day. The days she's not writing, you will find her with her critique partners at Starbucks, attending or presenting a workshop or at a RWA meeting. Being a Native American woman and a Scorpio, she's always had a fondness for history, mythology, the occult, and the unexplained events which have occurred on this world we call home. It was no wonder she found herself writing a paranormal series.

Okay hun let’s chat about Eternal Nights and get you to answer a few standard questions…
How would you describe your book?
Oh boy, now sure if I should answer it honestly or traditionally. Most would say they are within the paranormal romance genre and that is of course true although I think the series offers so much more. There is suspenseful moments, great loving sensual sex, and fight or action scenes, in addition to the paranormal elements. The books in the series are multi-plotted and the characters introduced in one book continue on to the next.  That’s why I often call the series my “night time soap”.

What Genre is your work mainly? Do you tend to stay in the same vein or are you hoping (if not already) to explore new ventures?
I write two Paranormal and Urban Fantasy series. I wrote non-fiction for years before trying my hand at fiction. Currently, I am working on fictional biography that again crosses the genre’ lines. Sins of a Man, the story of a Mafia Hit Man is based upon a real person’s life. I have two erotica tales in the works as well.
What inspired you to write your books?
I had retired from teaching and started a small part time business, creating historical costuming, a hobby of mine when Gabriel started showing up in dreams. The man pestered the dickens out of me until I finally started paying some attention to tell. I originally thought if I took the time and wrote out his story, he would shut up and go away. It didn’t work and I continue to write out he and others of his kind share with me. I never knew his stories would span into an eleven book series.

Who was the easiest character to write and why? Hardest and why?
Easiest - That would be Raphael, he’s fun, handsome and very entertaining.
Hardest would be Anthony, the hero from Sins of a Man, the story of a Mafia Hit man.

Are your characters based on real people? People you may know or TV/Movie stars?
Depends on what I am writing. I think every author will eventually add a real life person to their work. Remember the old saying, be careful how you treat an author, you just might end up in their book. I have to admit, some of my secondary characters are based upon people I have known.

Without giving anything away, what is/are your favourite scene(s) in your books?
In book one, Eternal Lovers, Jennifer and Gabriel’s wedding night.
In book two, Eternal Nights, When Gabriel destroys Jennifer’s kitchen when he is trying to fix something to eat. Poor man hasn’t had to cook for himself in over 5k years. lol
In book three, Eternal Blades, the final battle.

If your book had a theme song, what would it be and why?
Oh tricky question, well I guess “My Immortal” by Evanence, since my heroes are all immortal beings. But that song is a little slow for the fast past story lines, still I can’t help but love it.

Do you listen to music while you write your book, if so ... what songs?
No radio, or mp3’s  here – not even a tv in the background. I like complete silence.

What’s up next for you?
Currently I am finishing up the rough draft of book five, Eternal Tuat for the series, the first of two historicals which takes the reader back in time.

What inspired you to be a writer? Is there anything in particular that spurred you on?
I’ve always written something, be it something for publication or not. As I previously mentioned I wrote non-fiction for close to twenty years before giving fiction a serious try. I will admit, my journals are filled with stories created from my imagination.

What’s came first the chicken or the egg? lol
IF the eggs were first – who laid them? So I would have to say the chicken, but I think, where did he/she come from is the real question.

A little background into your writing: when did you start? What was your first piece? First published piece, tell us about your general history…
My first published piece was a poem I wrote in high school. It was published in the Reader’s Digest in 1968. I married, went on to get my college degrees and continued to write a little here and there. Once I landed a job as a teacher at a small college I was approached to write documented text for college text. I did that for many years and at the same time wrote “self help” type books. I didn’t switch to writing the paranormal series until three/four years ago.

Do you have any favourite books or authors?
What author doesn’t have her own list of great authors? Since I was writing paranormal I felt it only write that I should read everything I could get my hands on within the genre. I would have to say J.R. Ward and Lara Adrian are on the top of my list. Now mind you I also read outside the genre. I love Suzanne Brockman and many more.

Are you working on anything else besides this?
As previously mentioned I am working on a commercial fiction piece, Sins of a Man and two erotica pieces.
Could you give us a few words to people who haven’t yet read your books, sell your work ;)
A little background on the series and the first three books.
Several thousand years ago, a group of Tuaties left their dying planet in search of a new home. Sometime after arriving on Earth, in ancient Egypt, they discovered their presence impacted the newly developed civilization of humans, which already populated the Nile region. Unable to reverse some of the damage which had been done and before more took place, the highly evolved group of immortal aliens, using their collective powers, created New Tuat, a parallel dimension to Earth.  The stories in the series involve the seven Ancients, as they are called, who were led back to Earth by Sekhmet. All but two of the stories take place in modern times around Lake Michigan.

Book One – ETERNAL LOVERS (released Jan 15, 2013)
Twenty four year old, psychic Native American, Jennifer Mankiller Collins, flees a party at the rock star’s lake estate near Chicago after over hearing Gabriel’s thoughts, only to be thrown in death’s embrace. His size, cold dark stare and overwhelming presence is enough to scare anyone, including a young Selkie.
Born in Tuat, over five thousand years ago, Gabriel came to Earth along with six others to hunt down and destroy his evil twin and soulless followers. Ancient warrior in command of Guardians Incorporated, he has long since turned cold and bitter towards love. Then he stumbles upon Jennifer, a tiny Native America beauty, who is much more than she appears to be.
When history repeats itself, Gabriel must find a way to save the world and his beloved, who in reality is half Selkie, before it’s too late.

Book Two – ETERNAL NIGHTS (release date May 1, 2013)
No one believes Raphael when he tells his brethren, the platinum haired angel from his dreams, saved his life. She is real!
Jessica spent the past twenty years locked inside another being. Bound by her grandmother’s love and her power medicine ways, not even Jessica knows how to free herself. When the ghost of their grandmother returns to Jennifer, she must find the inner strength to release Jessica from Nowaki; only to have her lay dying in the cold mountain snow. Raphael must step in and save her, even if it means giving up the woman he has come to love.

Book Three – ETERNAL BLADES (release date Dec 1, 2013)
Lance, computer genius and the youngest of the immortal warriors, with the reputation of a playboy, falls head over heels in love with Tshering, a snow-haired dancer, from the Himalayans, who he soon learns is half were-tiger.
Although, Tshering Snow finds herself falling deeply in love with the immortal Ancient, Lance, she finds it hard to believe him, when he tells her he is not the father of the child that is an exact duplicate of him. To comfort her, he has sworn to her, he is a virgin.
While she battles her feelings towards Lance, Tshering helps Jennifer and Jessica in an attempt to rescue a group of children from Set’s Legions, only to have their plan backfire. They are held hostage by the evil ones. With no means of escape, they must rely on their own wit and abilities to free themselves from the overpowering leader of Set’s Legions, before it is too late.
Unab has plans on dethroning Bagsu as a war erupts between the governing factions of Set’s Legions.
