A friend in need.....

Hi guys,

I hope all is well with you.

Today I wish to address an issue that effects more than 41.1 million cases in people across the world.

Cancer.

Did you know that there are over 200 different types of cancer, different symptoms, different causes? 

Quoting from the Cancer Research UK site that there were more than 331,000 people diagnosed with Cancer in 2011 within the UK. That is around 910 people being diagnosed every day!

I know that there are many of you out there that know at least 1 person who has suffered, and/or died from this. I know I have. 

Today I was hurt when I learned a close, very good friend of mine is about to lose her husband to it. We have hoped and prayed that he would pull through this, but unfortunately, it seems he will not. It's heartbreaking to lose another perfect soul to this god-awful disease.  

I love this woman will all my heart, she is such an amazing soul herself and to have to go through this kills me. Especially when there is nothing you can do about Cancer itself.

However, I feel I can do something for her….

I’m going to try and grab as many of you out there and hopefully grab your attention long enough to help me help her.

You guys can help better than you know, you just have to put your heart into it.

Victoria is multi-talented. Her skills know no bounds and I’m certain when you see the list of things she can do you’ll be pleasantly surprised on how you actually can help me, help her.

I owe my friends an update on Tom. The last PET wasn't what we'd hoped for. It showed increased activity and metastasis. Saw oncologist today: Tom has 6 - 8 months to live. Along with losing my husband, I'm losing my house because we've had no income for this past year he hasn't worked. We lived off our savings, and it's gone.

I don't ever ask for charity, but help with book sales would help.

Also, I offer great book services at low prices.

Garrett~    She is so out of place. Her hands are shaking and she looks like she’s about to faint. Huge grey eyes keep moving flittingly from the stage to her water. The other two seem to be enjoying the night, but Kristine definitely isn’t.

I reach over and take hold of her hand. I give it a light squeeze. “You survived. The shows are over,” I whisper.

“Barely,” she mumbles back. Her eyes flit between my hand and my eyes. I’m making her nervous.

She’ll be perfect. I can see Warren keeps looking at her. She’s gotten his attention as well, not as much as Riza, whose face he’s bussing sucking. They sound like an Elephant, slurping water. The man can’t kiss to save his own pathetic excuse of a life. He lets her lips go with a wet popping sound. I can see the redhead is struggling to not reach up and wipe her mouth off.

For a brief moment Warren’s eyes meet mine, then Justin’s. “It’s time,” Warren stands up.
Disappointment flashes over Kelly’s features, where she’s been talking to my brother. I can’t help feel sorry for these girls. Such stupid girls.

Warren’s still smiling as he takes out a gun with a silencer attached. I hear Kristine’s gasp and then the wooshing sound it makes through the air, as he smacks Riza against the side of her head. Her body falls to the ground from the force he used. Shock vibrates through me. I’ll never get used to seeing a woman being beaten.

Justin grabs hold of Kelly and covers her mouth before she can scream. I hold Kristine’s hand tighter. She stares at Riza for another shocked moment, then she launches her body forward to get to her unconscious friend. Blood trickles from a gash where the gun connected with Riza’s temple.

“R … Riza!” Kristine manages a gasp filled with terror. “Why did you do that?”

Warren turns the gun on Kristine, a look of irritation on his face. “No!” I jump up and yank Kristine up next to me. “Don’t be stupid. You don’t have to kill anyone. Think of the money. Your father will be pissed. He wants four girls.”

Warren moves his hand so that the gun is pointing directly at my chest. I clear my face of all emotion. I shove Kristine at Warren. “Kill her then. It doesn’t matter to me. We’ll just have to keep looking, because I sure as hell won’t be telling your father why we failed him.”

Kristine is whimpering at Warren’s feet, a total mess of snot and tears. Warren scowls down at her. “She’ll be a turn on for someone who likes the sniveling kind. Silence her before I change my mind.”

I reach for Kristine but she tries to scramble away, in the direction of the injured girl. Before I can take hold of her, Warren’s pointed shoe connects with her ribs. Her mouth opens in a silent scream and more tears fill her eyes. I grab hold of her, one arm around her waist and the other over her mouth.

Warren glances at the waiter standing by the door to the balcony. “Bring this one,” he points to Riza. The waiter rushes to the girl and he throws her limp body over his shoulder. The way he’s carrying her makes the dress ride up, exposing her ass.

I lift Kristine off the ground and follow the waiter. Her hands come up, gripping hold of my arm. Sharp nails dig into my skin. She tries to thrash but she should know it’s useless. She’s no match for me.

I am a contemporary romance author, and I am just about to complete my first series of books called The Into The Series.

I live in Scotland with my husband and three amazing children. I live in a very small village in the country so writing makes it easier to have friends, even if they are in my head.

The tears finally fall from her eyes and she bites her lip, trying not to cry. My heart is close to breaking in two. This is worse than the first time I lost her, but at least then I had youth as an excuse. This time it’s just because I'm an arsehole. She nods her head and takes a step away from me, giving me space that I don’t want. I feel that step is creating a huge rift between us, the few feet feeling like miles.

“Ok, I understand. Will you call when you get home safe?” She is trying not to make eye contact with me, and I hate to see her like this. She is usually so confident, but now she is so unsure of herself.

“I will try and call, but if I can't I’ll text.” I know I won’t call. I won’t be able to hear her voice without wanting to be back here with her, wanting to give up everything just to be with her. I turn towards my car and open the door, and as I'm about to get in I hear her voice. It’s soft but I hear her as clear as day.

“Stay. Please don't leave me, Noah. I want you to stay.” I close my eyes and drop my head. I can't do this, I need to leave. I don't turn to look at her, I know if I do then I won’t be able to resist staying with her. If I honestly thought she wanted me the same way I want her, that she loved me, then I would stay.

Book four! Wow! It feels like only yesterday we were preparing for Cursed ha-ha. Tell us what you have been up to since then…

Since book 1 Cursed, I wrote & released books 2 & 3 of the Trilogy.

I have written this new book – ‘Another Life’, plus been working on a few others!

How did you come up with the idea for 'Another Life'?

Oh, Gosh I have no idea! I began planning & researching and writing it back in Feb 2011!

Lol. I'm normally like that ha-ha, Most of the time they are dreams though.
So, with the genre that you normally write in, how different is 'Another life' to the 'Cursed Tril'?

Dreams are good - unfortunately, I hardly remember mine!

It isn't really a paranormal horror. This is more of a young adult fantasy.

Did you feel you had come out of your comfort zone on this one or did you find the transition pretty agreeable…?

I found I came out a little but mostly the transition was agreeable, yeah.

It’s cool when you start something new isn't it Lol I can imagine how exciting it is. Therefore, when will the fantastic new fiction be gracing us with its presence and have you already had beta readers with feedback.

Very much so. And yes, I have had it with beta readers and received their feedback, very positive comments. The release date - I have a date in mind but not quite ready to reveal that yet!

Ah, I see what you are doing Lol you're gunna hang this out until we crack aren’t ya Lol

Can you reveal a little about the main character or is that hush-hush until your next sneak peak! Lol

Lol of course - the main character is Lily she has a hard time with bullying and depression but a dream helps her to find some peace.
Then later her whole world is turned upside down, as this meek girl grows stronger with herself.

Meek Girl? Oh yeah! Can you tell us a little about that too?

She is very shy and alone - she likes drawing. However, when she begins Uni she makes a friend and begins to actually live her life. She gets involved in a love triangle, which makes her question who she likes too - so she really grows until she has to make the final ultimate choice about how her life is going to progress.

Self-discovery paths huh? I love reading about becoming self-aware and discovering the person, you are meant to be. We have all been there Lol My god if I could go back to when I was 17 and tell myself; "You'll get there girl just deep breathes" I probably would have saved myself a lot of pain and confusion Lol.

So like with Daisy from Cursed, does Lily have any self-input as well or is she a complete new one on you?

Yes very much so. You might not have learnt so much, and Lily is a little but mostly all new Character.

And my last question is - Do you think that you might revive Daisy again one day or is that it for her now?

For now, that is it - but I do have a few spin-offs to write, but that's not going to be any time soon!
