Hunter by Ray Ferrer-Urban Art
A lil Blurb from Hunter S Jones...
The art form I create when writing is much more interesting than anything you will ever know or learn about me. However, since you ask, I have lived in Tennessee and Georgia my entire life, except for one “lost summer” spent in Los Angeles. I was always a complex kid. My first published stories were for a local underground rock publication in Nashville. I have published articles on music, fashion, art, travel and history. Currently, I have a music blog and published my debut novella, Fables of the Reconstruction, in 2012. I have a fascination with Edgar Allan Poe and Anne Rice, although I love history and like any Southern girl, I will always idolize Margaret Mitchell for writing Gone With The Wind. I live in Atlanta, Georgia with my partner, my books and a million dollar view.

How would you describe your books?
It seems that all my fiction has elements of the supernatural and spiritual. Even my one randy little vignette, Britain, centered upon the magic of love and attraction.

What Genre is your work mainly? Do you tend to stay in the same vein or are you hoping (if not already) to explore new ventures?
Supernatural, spiritual, magical, mystical.
In the anthology from Moon Rose Publishing, my story Magic in Memphis has Wiccan elements but it is a romance, a love story with a happy ending, which is a bit of a new direction for me.

Who was the easiest character to write and why? Hardest and why?
The easiest character to write so far has been Pierre von Minzle. I do not know why a demon zombie pimp is easy for me to write about when a normal person, Victoria Bryant from Magic in Memphis almost did me in…

Without giving anything away, what is/are your favorite scene(s) in your books?
Since Magic in Memphis is on my mind, the scene where Victoria and James have an encounter in Memphis on Yule. Yes, that is it. I loved writing that scene.

If your books had a theme song, what would it be and why?
Magic in Memphis again…the Rev. Al Green’s song Still In Love With You.

Do you listen to music while you write your books? If so ... what songs?
I listen before writing to get a vibe. Then, I write.

What inspired you to be a writer? Is there anything in particular that spurred you on?
Writing is how I have always expressed myself. Some people play music, some sing, some dance, some act, some people paint. My creative expression is through the written word.

Is there anyone else besides you in your family who write?
No. Absolutely not. I’m a complete aberration. As the quote from R.M. Brown states, “Writers happen in the best of families.”

Do you have any other Talents or hobbies other than your literary wand?
If you put me on your trivia team, we could win with all the rock, history and medical knowledge I have stored away. My brain is full of useless knowledge. Does that count as a talent?
lol you're awesome :P

What’s came first the chicken or the egg? Lol
This question is too deep and philosophical for me. Next question, please…
Lol ;)

A little background into your writing: when did you start? What was your first piece? First published piece, tell us about your general history…
My first published stories were for a local underground rock publication in Nashville. I have published articles on music, fashion, art, travel and history.

Do you have any favorite books or authors?
I have a fascination with Edgar Allan Poe and Anne Rice, although like any Southern girl, I will always idolize Margaret Mitchell for writing Gone With The Wind. Lately? There are so many exciting new authors, aren’t there? It is impossible to name everyone, so what if I share the last book I read? It’s called Watching Swifts and is written by R.J. Askew. It is such a poignant book. It’s beauty will take your breath away.

Here could you give us a few words to people who haven’t yet read your books, sell your work ;)
Fables of the Reconstruction is a zombie story set in London’s notorious Whitechapel District. It has a surprizing, unexpected modern twist for the ending. It has been called “A Whole New Genre.” “Creative and New.” “It's exciting, fresh, and extremely steamy!”

A little more detail into Fables of the Reconstruction;
Book Blurb…
Pomba Gira Mysticism. Creole Voodoo. The zombie apocalypse. Sex, drugs, magick. Paranormal erotica. Meet Pierre von Minzle and Mary Moore. They are the Adam and Lilith, definitely not Adam and Eve, of today's zombie apocalypse. Fables of the Reconstruction is a playful yet graphic sexual adventure consisting of what might have been, combined with what possibly might be happening now. It contains Pomba Gira mysticism, Creole voodoo and the seeds of the zombie apocalypse set in Victorian London's notorious Whitechapel District. Sex, magick , zombies. This ain't your daddy's shotgun zombie story. Mature content warning.

A little more detail into A Celtic Tapestry-an anthology;
Book Blurb…
The wheel of the year turns, bringing the joy of spring, the warmth of summer, the richness of autumn, and the merriment of winter. But eight Celtic festivals link these seasons together, bringing with them romance, lust, danger, and even magic. From a city under threat from night-time creatures at Ostara, to a selkie caught by the light of the Lughnasadh moon, to a writer caught in the flames of a fiery goddess at Imbolc. Eight authors have come together to give their own twist on these festivals, weaving each story with a blend of myth, magic, and contemporary telling…to create A Celtic Tapestry.
