Thanks so much for stopping by, please make yourself at home and we’ll begin.

Maz Marik is a horror author from England.  Born in the small town of Threapwood, he grew up in the Midlands and has also lived in the USA, the Caribbean, Spain, Mexico, Turkey and Egypt.

He currently lives in the south of England, a setting he has employed for his debut novel End Storm, which was published as an e-book at Amazon on December 1st 2012.

We're here today to talk about Maz book End Storm....

End Storm is also available at:
Book Blurb...

End Storm is a horror novel that tells the story of a family separated following a mysterious and devastating event. As they struggle to survive and reunite in the brutal new world, they find that the places they once knew are no longer safe, and many of the people they encounter are utterly, catastrophically transformed.

Awesome okay so Maz tell these wonderful people a bit about yourself?
I enjoy life, or at least try to, but prefer my own company, and think of myself as a private person. I have a big interest in demons, mythology, angels and anything that goes bump in the night.

How would you describe your book?
I try to write as if the story is realistic. So if an alien appears with laser eyes, I try to make it so the story is as realistic to that scenario as possible.

What Genre is your work mainly? Do you tend to stay in the same vein or are you hoping (if not already) to explore new ventures?
Horror/Thriller, although I do have a comedy penned for the future.

What inspired you to write your book?
I just love stories. I love telling stories around a camp fire. Making people scared. Using the darkness as a tool. Convincing people who are logical, to not walk in the woods because of the witch or demon.

Who was the easiest character to write and why? Hardest and why?
I find it easy to write about hermits, as I am one. And can write about social folk because I despise them. Me and society, and its creatures, do not get along....Hardest character is the woman, I still do not understand them.

Are your characters based on real people? People you may know or TV/Movie stars?
Real people. Or at least a situation a real person was in.

Without giving anything away, what is/are your favorite scene(s) in your book?
The end. Don’t want to give anything away!

If your book had a theme song, what would it be and why?
‘The End’, by The Doors, or any Bethoven.

Do you listen to music while you write your book? If so ... what songs?
Not really. I prefer having nothing to distract me. A few candles burning in the corner, and that is it.

What’s up next for you?
The next book! There is always another idea. While I have time, I may as well write.

What inspired you to be a writer? Is there anything in particular that spurred you on?
Having lots of time when I travel. I write poems, and short stories, which in turn became a novel.

Is there anyone else besides you in your family who write?
Not really. They can sing, where as I have the voice of one of the guys on X Factor in the early rounds who is only there to be laughed at.

Do you have any other Talents or hobbies other than your literary wand?
Scuba Diving. I also have the ability to pass unnoticed without needing to be invisible.

What’s came first the chicken or the egg?
Must be the egg?

A little background into your writing: when did you start? What was your first piece? First published piece, tell us about your general history…
Started writing when I was about 10 years old, and would write sequels to films, such as Alien 8 haha. Or I would write a fictional sports report. Then it morphed into poems and short stories. In 2012 I self published ‘End Storm’, which has sold copies in seven countries, and was in the top 50 UK Horror charts for about a month.

Do you have any favorite books or authors?
Dean Koontz. Everything he does clicks for me.

Are you working on anything else besides this? Always something else going on!

Here could you give us a few words to people who haven’t yet read your book, sell your work ;)
If you like edge of the seat stories, then I think you will enjoy my stories. I write them to be enjoyed by people like me, who loves horror/thrillers that are not ruined by unrealistic characters or a poor ending.
