One year ago today
I made one of the hardest
decisions of my life.
(At least it was at the time.)
As the car drove away
and you faded from view
I thought that I loved you.
Maybe once I did.

Our world has become so very torn,
so much so that we have become worn.
Are we born as equals only to mourn
that we never took the time to have sworn
to be constant equals all throughout time?

In my dream, I woke up
in my bed and there you were
right next to me. You
took me into your arms
and told me it was all okay.
Held me while I cried.
I woke up with tears
on my cheeks.

That long, golden hair
that flows down your back,
that I want noting more than
to run my fingers through.
I grit my teeth and take a breath
because I hate that I’m feeling this way.
I was never supposed to again
but you are making it impossible.
Amanda Leigh has had a love of words since before she could write them herself. Once she learned to read and write herself she just couldn’t stop. She reads any genre as long as the book sounds interesting. Which may explain why she can’t and never will be able to stick to one genre in her writing. When she’s not writing or reading she enjoys getting swept away in a great TV show, going to the theater, listening to music, cooking and many different forms of art. She has a cat she adores and also loves Psychology, tea, coffee and chocolate.
